Why we built this
Caring for an aging parent is a lot, especially when you’re juggling work, kids, and distance. Caregiver is for adult children who need a simple, reliable way to share the mental load: appointments, medications, tasks, and important documents, with the people who actually help.
We focus on relief and clarity, not clinical dashboards. The app is warm, readable, and built for real life when plans change, doses get skipped, and someone still needs to know what happened.
What you get at a glance
Core benefits
🧠 Less mental load
See what’s next for Mom or Dad in one place. Personalized prompts after onboarding reflect what’s hardest for you right now, from updates and meds to appointments or feeling overwhelmed.
👨👩👧 Everyone stays in the loop
Shared tasks, calendar, medication logs, and a recent activity feed help the whole care circle see what happened, without extra coordination effort from you.
💊 Care that fits real schedules
Track medications in a flexible way: log doses as taken, skipped, or missed; optional on-device reminders; history visible to those in the circle, with no “perfect patient” requirement.
📎 Important info, safely shared
Keep insurance cards, IDs, and visit summaries in a document vault your care circle can reach when it matters, alongside appointments on a shared calendar.
Key features
Care hub & onboarding
- Guided start that aims for relief in the first minute, not a wall of forms.
- Pain Mirror choice (updates, medications, appointments, overwhelm, organization) shapes encouragement and next steps.
- Quick win: add Mom, Dad, or your loved one with a first name. Skip if you need to breathe first.
- Gentle family nudge after you’ve started tracking care. Invite when you’re ready.
- Care hub language throughout: human, not corporate.
Tasks & care plans
- Shared task list for the active loved one, so everyone in the circle sees the same picture.
- Optional due dates and notes. Add detail when it helps, not because you have to.
- Assign to me when you’re owning a task; filter by All, Upcoming, or Done.
- Complete or archive without rigid workflows; edit later if reality changes.
- Plan-style labels to group what matters (home, medical, family, and more).
Shared calendar & appointments
- Appointments with title and time, so your circle sees what’s coming.
- List, week, and month views to match how you think about the week.
- Mark complete or archive when visits are done; move items back if plans shift.
- Related tasks where it makes sense, so a visit and its to-dos stay connected.
Medications
- Name, dosage, frequency, notes (as much or as little as you use in real life).
- Log taken, skipped, or missed; history stays visible to the care circle.
- Optional daily reminders on this device. Permission-based, not a lecture.
- Nothing locked in stone. Adjust and correct like you would on paper, but shared.
Document vault
- Upload documents tied to the loved one’s hub (think insurance cards, IDs, visit summaries).
- Search by file name when the list grows.
- View on device via secure access your circle shares. No emailing photos of cards at midnight.
Family & updates
- Invite caregivers by email into a care circle for each loved one (limits depend on your plan).
- Hub admin owns billing for Premium/Pro; invited members benefit from unlocked limits on hubs they’re in.
- Recent updates surface meaningful activity: tasks, appointments, medication logs, and documents. So the story of the week is visible.
- Push notifications where configured, to reduce “did anyone…?” messages.
Privacy & trust
- Your data lives in a secure backend with access rules so only the right people see a loved one’s hub.
- Sessions and sign-in handled through standard mobile auth flows (email/password; Apple/Google as available).
- No selling your story as a product pitch. This is a tool for families, not a data broker.
Free vs Premium — in plain language
Essential caregiving features are free so you can coordinate care without a paywall on the basics. Optional subscriptions add room for larger families, deeper log history, simple health charts, and heavier document use. The hub admin (the person who set up the care hub) is the one who pays; invited family usually inherit that hub’s benefits on that loved one’s circle.
