1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Calming Aura Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the mobile application Caregiver: Elderly Parent Help (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This policy is designed to work alongside Google Play and Apple App Store requirements and applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where they apply.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the categories below, depending on how you use the App.
2.1 Account and authentication
- Identifiers: Email address, user ID issued by our authentication provider, and (if you use them) identifiers from Apple or Google when you sign in with those services.
- Credentials: Password (stored securely by our provider; we do not store your password in plain text).
- Profile: Display name or similar profile fields you choose to provide.
2.2 Care and collaboration data (app content)
When you use core features, we process information you or your care circle enter, such as:
- Loved one / care hub names and related care data (e.g. tasks, calendar items, medications, documents you upload to the vault, family invites, and activity that you or invited family members generate in a shared hub).
Shared hubs: If you invite others to a care circle, information you add to that hub may be visible to other members of that circle according to the App’s design and your role (e.g. hub admin vs. family member).
2.3 Payments and subscriptions
- Subscription status: We store your subscription tier and related metadata (e.g. product identifier) as needed to enforce plan limits.
- Payment details: Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your full payment card number. Those platforms share limited purchase or entitlement information with us as required to operate subscriptions.
2.4 Device, technical, and usage data
- Device and app info: Device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical data.
- Analytics (Android): On Android, we may use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect usage and diagnostic events to improve the App. You can limit ad-related uses through your device settings where available.
- Push notifications: If you enable notifications, we process tokens and preferences needed to deliver alerts (e.g. family updates) via our notification provider.
2.5 Communications
- Support and transactional email: If we email you (e.g. care circle invites, account-related notices), we process your email address and message content as needed to send those communications.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the App (including shared calendars, tasks, medications, document vault, and family collaboration).
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- Process subscriptions and enforce plan limits (e.g. number of hubs, circle size, storage caps on free tiers).
- Send transactional or service-related messages (e.g. invites, important notices about the service).
- Analyze usage in aggregate to improve reliability and features (Android analytics as described above).
- Protect security, detect abuse, and comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly defined under CCPA.
4. How we share your information
4.1 Service providers (processors)
We use third-party services that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards, including:
| Category | Examples of use |
|---|---|
| Backend, database, auth, file storage | Supabase (hosted infrastructure, authentication, database, storage for documents). |
| Email delivery | Resend (or similar) for transactional emails such as invites. |
| Mobile platform services | Apple, Google (sign-in, in-app purchases, push notification infrastructure). |
| Analytics (Android) | Google Firebase / Analytics (usage events on Android builds that include the SDK). |
We may add or change subprocessors for similar purposes; we will update this policy when we do so in a material way.
4.2 Other users (care circles)
Content you place in a shared care hub is available to other members of that hub as designed by the App. Do not share sensitive information with people you do not trust.
4.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to: comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; enforce our terms or policies; protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you as required by law.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the service, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our providers, access controls, and row-level security on our database where implemented. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your data rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account or certain data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of certain processing (e.g. non-essential marketing, where applicable).
How to exercise rights: Email support@calmingaura.net with your request. You may also use in-app features where available (e.g. data export in Privacy & security). We will respond within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days.
Deleting your account in the app: Open Privacy & security and choose Remove account. You can delete when you are not blocking other caregivers—for example, if you are hub admin for a care circle that already has other members, you must pass hub admin or exit / remove that hub first so their access is preserved. Removing your account deletes the data we store for your sign-in and your memberships; it does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription—you must cancel billing separately in your Apple or Google account subscription settings.
If you are in the EEA/UK, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
7. Children’s privacy
Who may open an account (including any minimum age) is set out in our Terms of Service—the App is offered to adults who can agree to those Terms (typically 18 years or older).
This section addresses privacy law, not who can care for someone in real life. We do not market the App to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 16 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data retention
We retain information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account (where offered), we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business needs (e.g. billing records).
9. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA/UK.
10. Third-party links
The App may contain links to third-party sites or services (e.g. legal pages opened in a browser). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g. in-app message or email). Continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact
Calming Aura Studios LLC
Email: support@calmingaura.net
We aim to respond to privacy inquiries within 30 days.
13. Consent
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described herein.
14. Legal compliance (summary)
We aim to comply with applicable privacy laws, including CCPA and GDPR where they apply, and with Google Play and Apple App Store requirements for app privacy disclosures. This summary does not limit any rights granted to you by law.
